Angela Conlon, PT and Clinic Manager at ApexNetwork Physical Therapy in Chesterfield, MO attended a seminar titled “NAIOMT C-621 Lower Extremity”. The seminar was held at Touro College in New York City in December of 2016. This course was part of the certification course offered through NAIOMT (North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy).
Angela attended the course to practice and develop her manual therapy skills and application specifically to the hip, knee and foot. The combination of manual techniques in application with other therapeutic interventions is the primary approach. The course emphasized the importance of thorough evaluation to localize the tissue. The course also covered evaluation techniques to properly diagnose and treat the area with specific manual techniques and clinical exercises. This was a lab-based course, which allowed participants to apply the techniques and skills learned throughout the course. This course was one of the seven Angela is attending in order to earn her certification in manual orthopedic therapy.
